Your Quality Assurance Program A> proval No. 0863 is hereby terminated.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission pualished a final rule, effective June 27. 1997.

revising the requirements of 10 CFR Part 34

• Licenses for Industrial i

Radiography"and Radiation Safety Requirements for 1r.dustrial Radiographic Operations.

The revision, which contained numerous changes in the requirements, also modified the quality assurance (OA) requirements for transportation.

As a result of these ;hanges, a separate NRC OA program approval is no longer needed.

Specifically, transportation activities are now contained in a new paragraph.

10 CFR 71.101(g).

This provision was added to the regulations and requires that inspection and maintenance )rograms limited to radiographic exposure devices, source changers, or paccages transporting these devices and meeting l

the provisions of 10 CFR Part 34.31(b). or equivalent Agreement State regu'lations, satisfy the general license requirements specified in 10 CFR Part 71.12(b) for Type B transport packages.
