Att:chmint to GNRO-97/00078 FITNESS FOR DUTY SIX MONTH REPORT JANUARY 1,1997 THROUGH JUNE 30,1997 Management Action:
Management actions to enhance the Fitness for Duty Program during this reporting period were:
A Health Fair was held in March at FFD/ Medical with an overwhelming amount of participation. FFD/ Medical began the 1997 year with consciousness on good health and well being. Included in this Health Fair, were free cholesterol and glucose tests, mammograms, Emax (EAP Provider) for stress analysis, Marion Hill Chemical Dependency Center Counseling, Parkview Home Health, Safety Department, weight and blood pressure checks, lipid profiles, health care literature, healthy snacks literature, and forms completed for the use of the fitness center.
Fitness For Duty Initiatives Taken:
Potassium nitrite screening testing was implemented in May to aid in the prevention of additives put in samples for contamination. An informative letter was distributed on the nuclear network with findings of a new contaminant called Klear. Sharing our findings with others was a way of helping in the nuclear industry objective of ultimately achieving a drug free workplace environment.
Presently, there are two company employees remaining in the follow-up program.
Two company employees completed the program and one retired from company before completion.
Random testing rate during this period was 20.0% Yearly testing rate is 50.0%
Effectiveness Evaluation:
The Fitness for Duty orguiization continues to update and revise procedures based on operating experience, industry lessons teamed and QA audits, including those conducted at other nuclear sites, as part of the continual process of maintaining an effective program.
