Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station License No. DPR 28 (Docket 50-271)

Completion of Generic Letter 89-10, Follow-up Task 4 In Reference (a), Vermont Yankee committed to perform four tasks in support of its work in response to Generic Letter (GL) 89-10 (Reference (b)) closure. Reference (c) provided notification of completion of the first three tasks. It also indicated that work on Task 4 was in the final stages of completion, and committed to providing notification by letter no later than March 30,1998 of having completed the remaining work.

The Task 4 commitment, as stated in References (a) and (c), is:

" Vermont Yankee will complete the EPRI Performance Prediction Methodology (PPM) on all applicable non-tested valves and apply the resultant differential pressure thrust values, if higher than calculated in the VY component calculation (s), in the determination of design basis switch settings."

This Letter constitutes Vermont Yankee's notification, in accordance with reference (c), that Task 4 has been completed.
