SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-295/98006(DRS); 50-304/98006(DRS)
Dear Mr. Kingsley:
On April 3,1998, the NRC completed an inspection at your Zion 1 and 2 reactor facilities. The
enclosed report presents the results of that inspection. Areas examined during the inspection
'
are identified in the report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective i
examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and
observation of activities in progress.
Based on the results of this inspection, we concluded that you adequately implemented the
corrective actions and commitments identified in your February 13,1998 letter which was in ,
response to our letter dated January 15,1998, transmitting NRC Notice of Violation and i
Proposed imposition of Civil Penalties. We found your adverse trend investigation pertaining
to the implementation of the call-out for unscheduled work and in handling the odor of alcohol
after a behavioral observation to be thorough and inciteful. No violations or deviations were
identified.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosure will be placed in the NRC Put,lic Document Room.
