The ERDS is an online, real time data transmission system for communicating plant cystems information from nuclear power plants. This data is available for Ctate decision makers following an emergency classification of Alert or higher and could De used to provide information on plant conditions for early protective actions decisions.
The NRC is in the process of upgrading the ERDS software. This upgrade is available to States and training on both the upgrade and previous version of the software will be offered during the one day session. The NRC will pay for one State attendee. This person should have a good technical knowledge of plant parameters and how they affect protective actions as well as the ERDS system. They should also have the ability to take the information back to the State and train other potential ERDS users.
