FORTHCOMING PUBLIC MEETING ABOUT THE BIG ROCK POINT (BRP) NUCLEAR PLANT DATE & TIME: Thursday, November 13,1997 6:30 P.M. 9:00 P.M.

LOCATION: Charlevoix Township Hall Charlevoix, Michigan 49720 PURPOSE: The purpose of this public meeting is to inform the public of the licensee's decision to forego their original plans to place BRP in 27 year SAFSTOR in lieu of immediate dismantlement and decontamination. The NRC staff will present information to the public regarding the regulatory process for decommissioning and Consumers Energy will present information regarding their changes to their decommissioning plans. The public weit have an opportunity to question and comment on the presentations. The meeting will be transcribed by a court reporter. The public meeting agenda is enclosed. .
