SAFETY LIMIT MINIMUM CRITICAL POWER RATIO (MCPR) TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS CHANGE, PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNIT NO. 3 (TAC NO. M99134)

Dear Mr. Hunger:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 225 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-56 for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Unit l

No. 3.

This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) in response to your June 30, 1997, application, as supplemented by letter dated-September 26, 1997.

l This amendment-revises the MCPR safety limit in Section 2.1 of the TSs from 1.07 to-1.11 for two recirculation loops in operation.

For a single loop in i

operation, the MCPR will change from 1.08 to 1.12. The new MCPR safety limits reflect the effect of the new General Electric - 13 part length fuel design and other Peach Bottom core-specific parameters.

A copy of the Safety Evaluation is also enclosed.

Notica of Issuance will be included in the Commission's Bi-Weekly Federal Reoister Notice.
