UFTR Emergency Plan. The plan changes were submitted in a letter dated April 10, 1997 from William G. Vernetson, Director of Nuclear Facilities. The s

licensee has stated in the letter that the changes did not decrease the

, l effectiveness of their emergency plan. It implied, but did not state, that the plan continues to meet the requirements of 10CFR50 jl ;-

This revision includes some general changes related to name changes of various -

. departments in t'1 University and in the State of Florida well as some i editorial chaliges. It also included an updated figure of the UFTR access ->

route and updates of the agreement letters with offsite agencies. d

The 50.54 Task Group is looking into the question of handling, evaluating, and -;

.' responding to 50.54 changes. The Group has recommended certain language to be a included in the response to a licensee. Accordingly, the followiag language 4 to be included in the letter to the licensee:

Our initial review of these changes indicates them to be in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q). Japlementation of these changes will be subject to inspection to confirm that they did not decrease the overall effectiveness of your emergency plan.

In acconiance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, 2 copy of the letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.

This completes our efforts on TAC No. 98483.
