1. Deliver w m f coolant to th: reactor coolant system automatically to keep the core covered subsequent to a Loss of Coolant AceWar (LOCA), Main Steam Line Break (MSLB), or Steam Generator Tube Rupture (SGTR).
2. Recirculate borated water from the containment sump to the reactor coolant system su%me to an =cewnt
3. Provide shutdown cooling and refuehng water transfer during normal plant shutdown, cooldown, and mf4
4. Provide controls and indication to allow the recirculation mode to be initi= tad automatically or manually by the operator.

~

5. Provide controls and indication such that during recirculation the operator has the option (not a design basis flowpath) of pa=itinn'n= valves so that the HPSI System pumps can take suction from the shutdown cooling leat exchanger which is supplied with enntainment sump water by the cantainment spray pumps or the low-pressure safety injection pumps.
6. Provide a back-up method (back-up to LPSI pump injection) to inject borated water sin =*=nenusly into the hot and cx>ld legs of the Reactor Coolant System for boron precipitation control during post-=crWat recirculation.
7. Store (RWST) and pmvide the initial source of borated water for the high-pressure and low-pressure safety injection pumps and the containment spray pumps for so gwy injection into the reactor coolant system.
8. Store (RWS'l) and provide the source of borated water to fill the refueling cavity during refueling operations.
