Dear Mr. Quillin:
As requested, we havc reviewed the proposed revisions to Colorado regulations, Part 4, Standards for Protection Aoainst Radiation, dated August 20,1999. The proposed regulations are in response to the one amendment identi%d in the enclosed Regulation Assessment Tracking System (RATS) Data Sheet. The re.gulations were reviewed by aamparison to the equivaient NRC regulations in 10 CFR Parts 20.1003,20.1101 and 20.2203. We discussed our review of these regulations with Mr. Jake Jacobi on September 20,1999. As a result of our review, we have no comments. Under our current procedure, a finding that a State regulation meets the compatibility and health and safety categories of the equivalent NRC regulation may only be made based on a review of the final State regulation. However, we i have determined that if your proposed regulations were adopted without significant change, ) they would meet the compatibility and health and safety categories established in OSP j Procedure SA-200 We have also summarized on the enclosed RATS Data Sheet our knowledge of the status of other Colorado regulations. Please let us know if you note any inaccuracies or have any comments on the information contained in the RATS Data Sheet. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at (301) 415-2325 or Dr. Stephen N. Salomon of my staff at (301) 415-2368 or email: SNS @ NRC. GOV. Dear Mr. Quillin:
f As requested, we have reviewed the proposed revisions to Color do regulations, Part 4, Standards for Protection Aoainst Radiation, dated August 20,19 9. The proposed regulations are in response to the one amendment identified in the enclose Regulation Assessment Tracking System (RATS) Data Sheet. The regulations were rewewed by comparison to the equivalent NRC regulations in 10 CFR Parts 20.1003,20.1101/ and 20.2203. We discussed our review of these regulations with Mr. Jake Jacobi on Septembe 20,1999. As a result of our review, we have no comrnents. Under our urrent procedure, a finding that a State regulation meets the compatibility and health and stfe categories of the equivalent NRC regulation may only be made based on a review of the final tate regulation. However, we have determined that if your proposed regulations were ad pted without significant change, they would meet the compatibility and health and safety c gories established in OSP Procedure SA-200. We have also summarized on the enclosed RATS Data $heet our knowledge of the status of other Colorado regulations. Please let us know if you n te any inaccuracies or have any comments on the information contained in the RATS D a Sheet.
