REVIEW OF DECEMBER 1997 REVISIONS TO PORTIONS OF THE POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT'S EMERGENCY PLAN

Dear Mr. Patuiski:

in February 1998, Region ill received individually numbered revisions, dated December 1997, to portions of the Point Beach Nuclear Plant's Emergency Plan. These revisions were submitted under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(q).

Based on your determinations that these changes do not decrease the effectiveness of your Emergency Plan, and that it continues to meet the standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b) and the requirements of Appendix E to Part 50, NRC approvalis not required. Our initial revlew of these changes indicates that they are in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q) Implementation of these changes will be subject to inspection to confirm that they have not decreased the effectiveness of your Emergency Plan.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
