MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF FILING DEADLINE (S)

The Finnklin Regional Planning Board (FRPB) respectfully requests that the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board agree to gram to the FRPB a fding extension to April 6, 1993.

The 1%'B shiill be amending its original fding of February 27,1998. In light of this filing, FRPB shall not be tetponding to NRC Staff s Response to Requests for Hearing," dated March 16,1998. If an extension is granted, this amendment shall be flied on or before the proposed date of Apdl 6,1998. The FRPB does not expect, and egrees not to require, the NRC staff to respnd to the FRPB fding of March 25,1998.

'1he FRPB understands that counsel for the NRC 6tairdoes not oppose this motion. Counsel for petitionce s (Yankee Atomic Electric Company) have been informed of tids motion and have not taken a position on it at this time. The statf and the licenses under>tund that if the motion for extension is granted, the required date for filing responses to the FRPD's amended fdin shall be eight days after the receipt ofFRPB't, amended fding. .
