SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-483/98-02 AND NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Dear Mr. Randolph:
From February 2-6,1998, a special reactive inspection was conducted at your Callaway Plant

was effective on issuance, and was required to be implemented within 30 days of issuance.
The violation is cited in the enclosed Notice of Violation (Notice) and the circumstances
surrounding this violation are described in detail in the enclosed report. The NRC has
concluded that information regarding the reason for the violation, and the corrective actions
taken to correet4he violation and prevent its recurrence, have already been adequately
,
addressed. Therefore, you are not required to respond to this violation unless the description in
this report does not accurately reflect your corrective actions or your position. In that case, or if
you choose to provide additional information, you should follow the instructions specified in the
enclosed notice.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Ru'es of Practice," a copy of this letter, its
'
