OF SEPTEMBER 4, 1997, MEETING REGARDING CALVERT CLIFFS IMPROVED TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS z
On December 4,1996, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), submitted a license amendment request to convert the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 Current Technical Specifications to the Improved Technical Specifications (ITS).
On September 4, 1997, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and BGE held a meeting at One White Flint North, Rockville, Maryland, to discuss clarification of the Calvert Cliffs Technical

S)ecifications, Sections 1.0, 2.0, 3.1, 3.1, and 5.0.
Enclosed is a list of tie meeting attendees.
Among items discussed, the NRC requested BGE to clarify and discuss the Calvert Cliffs fuel oil system, gravimeter analysis of fuel oil, clarification between sediment and particulate testing, and justification of the 92 days interval between testing for impurities on its own merits, or reteining the NUREG frequency of every 31 days.

During August 1997, NRC received Calvert Cliffs Revisions 3 and 4 to the license amendment request to convert to the ITS.

Revision 4 transmitted BGE responses to NRC comments on ITS Sections 2.0, 3.1, 3.5, and 3.9.
BGE assured NRC that additional responses would be forthcoming in mic-September 1997.
