NRC ROUTINE RADIATION PROTECTION INSPECTION REPORT
50-331/97013(DRS)
Dear Mr. Franz:
On August 15,1997, the NRC completed an inspection at your Duane Amold Energy Center.
The purpose of this inspection was to review various aspects of your radiation protection and
chemistry programs. The enclosed report presents the results of this inspection.
Overall, the radiation protection and chemistry instrumentation programs have been
implemented in accordance with procedures. Additionally, the intemal dosimetry program has
- effectively been implemented. Strengths were observed within the radiation protection
department regarding the planning and coordination of activities with other departments, the
f
development of radiation work permits and the number of frequently entered contamination
areas,
in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commissions regulations, a copy of this letter and the
enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
