PETITION FOR LEAVE TO INTERVENE SUBMITTED BY THE CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF THE GOSHUTE RESERVATION AND DAVID PETE Attached is a petition for leave to intervene submitted by the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation and David Pete, a tribal member. The petition was filed in response to a " Notice cf Consideration of issuance of a Materials License for the Storage of Spent Fuel and Notice of Opportunity for a Hearing", issued by the NRC staff in response to an application of Private Fuel Storage, LLC (Docket No. 72-22) for the possession and storage of spent fuel in an independent spent fuel storage installation that would be located on the Skull Valley Goshute Indian Reservation in Skull Valley, Utah. The notice was published in the Federal Registei at 62 Fed. Reg. 41099 (July 31,1997) (copy attached).
The petition for leave to intervene is being referred to you for appropriate action in accordance with 10 C.F.R. Sec. 2.772(j).
