NRC INSPECTION REPORT 70 7002/97-207

This refers to the chemical process safety inspection conducted from August 11 15,1997, at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant. The purpose of the inspection was to determine the effectiveness o, ine facility's chemical process safety program. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with Mr. Dale Allen, Portsmouth General Manager, and other senior members of plant management.
Areas reviewed during the inspection are identified in the enclosed report. Within these areau, the inspection consisted of facility walk through, selective examinations of procedures and records, interviews with personnel, and observations. Based on the results of this inspection, no violations of NRC requirements were identified.
