This letter is to confirm a phone call between yourself and Ms. Donna Tizzano on September 3,1997. Duritig that call, Ms. Tizzano provided im'ormation regarding drainage of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP) circulating s water system.' Approval was given to use a westem storm drain path in addition to the castern storm drains npproved in your letter dated August 18.1997.

The western storm diains empty into the northwest drain, which includes a skimmer plate and impoundment dam prior to the point where *.he water enters Lake Erie. The volume of water routed via this path will not exceed 500,000 gallons. Drainage will continue for five days or less. No solids or sludges will be pumped out. It is PNPP's intention to meet the same sampling requirements for bypassing to the storm drains as those at the normal plant discharge.
