MEETING WITH NUCLEAR UTILITY REPRESENTATIVES TO DISCUSS Y2K EXERCISE GUIDELINES AND INITIAL CONDITIONS DATE.& TIME: Tuesday October 12,1999,8:30 am (Industry-only session)

LOCATION: U.S. Nuclear Regu!atory Commission NRC Operations Center Two White Flint North, Fourth Floor 11545 Rockville Pike Rockville, Maryland PURPOSE: 1. This session will provide Industry representatives an opportunity to discuss (among themselves) last minute details of a multiple event scenario which will be used to test NRC's Y2K readiness on October 15,1999. Helt - NRC staff will not participate in this portion of the meeting. It will not be open to the public.

2. This session will provide Industry representatives an opportunity to discuss the general ground rules for the Y2K exercise with NRC incident response specialists, items to be discussed include exercise controller communications links, assumptions regarding national and local weather conditions prior to the exercise, and plant status conditions prior to the exercise. The actual scenario for the Y2K exercise will Dg! be discussed with the NRC staff. Following the meeting, a tour of the NRC Operations Center will be conducted for interested visitors.
