The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is requesting emergency publication of the document entitled " Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Sig'lificant Impact" for the South l
Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G). SCE&G haa scheduled a shipment of fresh I
fuel to be received on site at the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Gtation on September 9,1997. In order to receive this shipment, an exemption to 10 CFR 70.24 is necessary, requiring the environmental assessment of August 26,1997, to be published in the Federal Reoistc; as soon as possible.
