The purpose of this letter is to docket a change in Comed's commitment for completion of l
Generic Letter (GL) 89-10," Safety-Related Motor Operated Valve (MOV) Testing and Surveillance," required valve testing. In Reference 1, Comed committed to complete all required Motor Operated Valve (MOV) testing by the end of the fifth refueling outage beginning with the spring of1991 outages. This placed the commitment for testing completion at the end of the eighth refueling outage for Unit 1 (IllR08) and the end of the seventh refueling outage for Unit 2 (Il2R07).
During the NRC closecut inspection of GL 89-10 activities, conducted February 23,1996 to April 4,1996, Comed presented a sevised schedule for the completion of the remaining MOV testing. In Reference 2, NRC closed the review ofIlyrvn's program,in part, based on the fact that the remaining testing plans were established for completion within the following three outages. In addition,it was noted that only low risk-significant valves remained to be tested.
i Based on testing plans identified in the Reference 2 closecut inspection, Ilyron will complete the required MOV testing during the ninth refueling outage for Unit 1 (111R09) and the end of the 7
eighth refueling outage for Unit 2 (B2R08). These outages are scheduled for 1999.
