FROM:
Joseph J. Holonich, Chief URB /DWM/NMSSc/=+'
SUBJECT:
NO COST EXTENSION TO ALL TASKS OF CONTRACT NRC-02-96-004, JOB CODE J5147 A review of work in progress for this contract revealed that many of the tasks can not be completed within FY 97. i.e. September 26, 1997, because the licensees have not responded to NRC's request for the additional information needed to complete tle tasks.
The licensees have agreed to provide the information as soon as possible.
Although a few tasks are likely to be completed by end of FY97, it is likely that a' few will need additional time te complete the work.
Therefore, it is recommended that all the tasks under this contract be granted a no cost extension to December 31, 1997.
However, Tasks 3, 4, and 8, which include soliciting and addressing public comments on Standard Review Plans may need more time and effort, depending on the scope and extent of public comments on these documents.' Therefore, to provide the additional time that may be needed for tasks 3. 4, and 8, it is recommended that the period of performance for the above contract (NRC-02-96-004), which expires on September 26, 1997, be extended to March 30, 1998.
