Your. Quality Assurance Program A) proval No. 0222 is hereby terminated. The
. ' Nuclear Regulatory Commission pu)lished a final rule, effective June 27, 1997..
revising the requirements of 10 CFR Part 34. " Licenses for Industrial Radiography and Radiation Safety _ Requirements for Industrial Radiographic Operations." The revision, which contained numerous changes in the requirements, also modified the quality assurance (0A) requirements for t transportation. As a result of these changes, a separate NRC OA program approval is no longer needed.
- Specifically, transportation activities are now contained in a new paragraph.
- 10 CFR 71.101(g). This provision was added to the regulations and requires
- that inspection and maintenance programs limited to radiographic exposure _
4 devices, source changers. or paccages transporting these devices and meeting the provisions of 10 CFR Part 34.31(b). or_ equivalent Agreement State regulatinm. satisfy the general license requirements specified in 10 CFR Part 71.12(b) . ' Type B transport packages,
