Your Quality Assurance Program A] proval No. 0827 is hereby terminated. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission pu]lished a final rule, effective June 27, 1997.
revising the requirements of 10 CFR Part 34. " Licenses for Industrial 4
Radiography and Radiation Safety Requirements for Industrial Radiographic Operations." -The revision, which contained numerous changes-in the j'
requirements, also modified the quality assurance (0A) requirements for transportation. As a result of these changes, a separate NRC OA program approval -is no longer needed.
- - Specifically, transportation activities are now contained in a new paragraph.
- 10 CFR.71.101(g). This provision was added to the regulations and requires j that inspection and maintenance arograms limited to radiographic exposure devices, source changers, or paccages transporting these devices and meeting i
the provisions of 10 CFR Part 34.31(b), or equivalent Agreement State regulations, satisfy the general license requirements specified in 10 CFR Part 71.12(b) for Type B tra,1 sport packages, There is no need for you to respond to this letter.
