revising the requirements of 10 CFR Part 34, " Licenses for Industrial Radiography and Radiation Safety Requirements for Industrial Radiographic i

Operations," The revision, which contained numerous changes in the i

requirements, also modified the quality assurance (0A) requirements for transportation. As a result of these changes, a separate NRC QA program approval is no longer needed, Specifically, transportation activities are now contained in a-new paragraph.

4 10 CFR 71.101(g). This provision was added to the regulations and requires that inspect 1on and maintenance )rograms limited to radiographic exposure 4-devices, source changers, or paccages transporting these devices and meeting the provisions of 10 CFR Part 34,31(b), or equivalent Agreement State i

regulations, satisfy the general license requirements specified in 10 CFR Part l-71,12(b) for Type B transport packages.
