Dear Mr. Hagan:
An NRC inspection was conducted August 4 8,1997, at your Grand Gulf Nuclear Station

reactor facility. The inspection focused on your solid radioactive waste and radioactive
!
materials transportation programs with emphasis on your implementation of the revised
49 CFR Parts 100179 and 10 CFR Part 71. The enclosed report presents the scope and
l
results of that inspection.
!

The inspection confirmed that the solid radioactive waste management and radioactive
materials transportation programs were implemented properly.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss
them with you.
