AUGUST 19.1997 ADMINISTRATIVE CONFERENCE NOTES PURPOSE:

Administrative telephone conference with NNEco, NRC, NEAC and Parsons to discuss:

Documentation associated with Operation and Maintenance procedure revision e

Cable and raceway computer program e

Setpoint calculations e

i Date:

August 19,1997 l

List of Attendees NNEco NRC NEAC Parsons Joe Fougere John Nakoski T. Setpoint Calculations 1.

TIER 3 NEEDS TO IDENTIFY SETPOINT CHANGES TO SELECT A SAMPLE FROM. TIER 1 NEEDS TO IDENTIFY SETPOINT CALCULATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SYSTEMS SELECTED FOR REVIEW. HOW CAN WE IDENTIFY ALL OF THE SETPOINT CALCULATIONS AND/OR REVISIONS?

Discussion 1.

There is no single list of just setpoint calculations, The Calculation Tracking Program (CTP)is the co.itrolled source of all calculations. A key word search of CTP can help identify setpoint calculations.

2.

NNECo will check to see if CTP is Q software. NNECo is in the process of putting CTP Into PASSPORT.

3.,

NNECo has a draft specification that may help identify the setpoint calculations, SP.M2 EE-019.

2.

WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE SE1 POINT CHANGE RECORD (SCR) LOG ASSOCIATED WITH NGP 3.16 CONTAINS ALL OF THE REVISIONS DONE UNDER THAT PROCEDURE. BEFORE NGP 3.16, SETPOINT CHANGES WERE CONTROLLED BY PDCR AND NOW THEY ARE CONTROLLED BY DCR.1G THERE A LIST OF PDCR AND DCR'S THAT JUST CHANGED SETPOINTS?

Discussion 1.

No. It would require a manval search through the PDCRs and DCRs.

, 3.

DOES THE MASTER SETPOINT LIST (MSL) AS DEFINED IN NGP 3.16 EXIST?

Discussion i

1.

No. The MSL does not esist, and NOP 3.14 le no longer being used. Depending on what one is looking for, setpoints can be found in several different documents, e.g. FSAR, l&C rurveillance testing procedures, vendor technical manuals, EOPs, etc.

ACTION:

Parsons to prepare a RAI requesting SP.M2-EE 019.

NNECo will check to see if CTP is Q software 8.

Documentation Associated with Operation and Maintenance Procedure Revision CURRENTLY PROCEDURE REVISION IS CONTROLLED BY PROCEDURES DC1, DC2 AND DC3.-

ARE THE FORMS PREPARED UNDER THESE PkOCEDURES PUT TOGETHER IN A PACKAGE?

PRIOR TO DC1,2, AND 3 WHAT DOCUMENTATION WAS PRODUCED REGARDING A

)'

- PROCEDURi' REVISION 7 Discussion:

1.

Under DC1,2, and 3 the procedure revision forms are assembled into a package.

2.

Since 3/97 this package includes the safety evaluat6on screening form. Prior to that date, the need for a safety evaluation was indicated by a check box on the review and approval form.

3.

Before DC 1,2,&3 the procedure revlelon documentation consist of a review and approval form. There is no documentation of the thought processes that went into the procedure revision.

4.

Since 1992 procedure revlolons required VSV.

- 8.

To obtain all of the documents associated with a procedure revision, Persons should ask for the procedure revision, its VSV, review and approval form, and any other associated documentation.

Cable and Raceway Computer Program 1.

WHAT IS THE CABLE AND RACEWAY COMPUTER PROGRAM AND HOW IS IT USED BY NNECO?

Discussion: -

1.

It is a main frame application, it is controlled software, but not Q software, Access to the software for making changes is controlled.

2.

It is a database that performs calculations on raceway fill and weight /ft of installed cable in the raceway.'

3.

It does not route cable.

4.

The source code was developed by NNECo PAGE 2

e AUGUST 19,1997 ADMINISTRATIVE CONFERENCE NOTES 2.

HAS THE INFORMATION IN THE DATABASE BEEN FIELD OR DESIGN VERIFIED? IN PERFORMING A MODIFICATION IS THIS THE CONTROLLED SOURCE OF INFORMATION?

Discussion:

1.

The data originally came from Bechtel't. cable and raceway program. Much of the informat6on has been verifled by walkdown, but 100% data verif6 cation has not been performed. Yes, this is the controll'sd source of information used in designing a modification.

2.

Data in the database has been declared as " controlled". The software routine that performs calculations has controlled access NNECo is in the process of changing the software and data to "Q".

3.

DOES THE SOFTWARE TELL THE USER ABOUT SEPARATION PROBLEMS? IF THERE IS A SEPARATION PROBLEM. WOULD THE SOFTWARE ALLOW THE CABLE TO ROUTED ANY WAY?

Discussion:

1.

The software does notify tha user about separation errors, but it would allow the cable to be routed anyway. NNECo does not rely on this software for maintaining cable separation.

A hard copy of the raceway schedule produced by this software is included in the DCN and le reviewed and verified as part of the DCN. Meeting cable separation requirements would be c!,nfirmed as part of the DCN review and approval.

4.

CAN PARSONS OBTAIN ACCESS TO THIS PROGRAM USING THE NNECO COMPUTER TERMINALS IN OUR OFFICES?

Discussion:

1.

Yes, in a T802 session type M2CBLRWY at the ready prompt.
