ORNL MIXED WASTE DISPOSAL AT ENVIROCARE 1

Jim, the ORNL mixed waste is SNM and Utah will have to monitor to see that th licensee does not exceed the 350 gram limit in the license.

Rail shipments will be received nd disposed of before the next shipment arrives onsite.

This process involves the disposal of entire 55-gal drums, whi6h must have void spaces filled with a grout material before the drums are covered over.

Over 46,000 drums will eventually be disposed of in this manner.

The first rail shipment required no treatment with respect to RCRA hazardous materials.

Subsequent shipments may require some pre-treatment before disposal can occur.
