Dear Mr. Car r:
Your Quality Assurance Program A) proval No. 0679 is hereby terminated. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission pu)lished a flnal rule, effective June 27. 1997.
revising the requirements of 10 CFR Part 34. " Licenses for Industrial Radiography and Radiation Safety Requirements for Industrial Radiographic
- Operations." The revision, which contained numerous changes in the requirements, also modified the quality assurance (0A) requirements for transportation. -As a result of these changes, a separate NRC OA program approval is no longer needed.
Specifically, transportation activities are now contained in a new paragraph.
10 CFR 71.101(g). This provision was added to the regulations and requires that ins devices,pection source and maintenance-)rograms changers, limited to or paccages transporting radiographic these exposure devices and meeting the provisions of 10 CFR Part 34.31(b) or equivalent Agreement State-regulations, satisfy the general license requirements specified in 10 CFR Part 71.12(b) for Type B transport pockages.
