NRC THI-2 CLEAHUP PROJECT DIRECTORATE WEEKLY STATUS REPORT FOR JUNE 15 - 21, 1987 1.
DEFUELING Pick und place defueling of partial length fuel assemblies and fuel pins continued. Partial fuel assemblies D-5, D-6, D-7, C-5. B-5 ond E-5 were broken free froa the luier grid. All but E-5 have been loaded into defueling canisters. A total of 26 fuel assemblie:, out of 177 in the core have now been broken free fecm the lower grid.
Three canisters were filled and two pertially filled.
No canisters were transferred to the spent fuel pool since the last status report.

ENVIR0hKENTAL MONITORING US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sample analysis results shva that TMI site liquid effluents are in accordance with regulatory limits, NRC requirements, and the City of Lancaster Agreement.
INI water effluents from the Station (Units 1 and 2) discharge are analyzed by EPA.
Game spectrum analyses of the sever Caily composited sainples for May 30 - June 6,1987 indicated no Ttil-2 related radicactivity.
EPA's gamma spectrum analysis of the NRC's TNI outdoor air sample for June 11 - 19, 1987 showed no recctor related radioactivity.
The water works for the City of Lancaster composited seven daily samples f rom May 31 - June 6,1987.
EPA's genma cpectrum analysis of the carposite sample showed no reactor related radioactivity.
