SUBJECT:
STANDARDIZATION AND ADVANCED REACTOR POLICY - TRANSFER OF RESPONSIBILITY This is in response to your memorandum of May 22 on the same subject.
I agree with you that NRR and RES should cooperate closely and coordinate our respec-tive efforts'in'ar'eas where we have mutual or related responsibilities. This-includes development and implementation of the standardization and advanced reactor policies.
With respect to implementation of standardization, we especially.need.your assistance and coordination in two areas:
(1) review of the PRAs for the (APWR) and liestinghouse General Electric (ABWR), Combustion Engineering (2) treatment of USIs, GSIs, (RESAR SP-90) standard plant applications, and and optimization issues for the EPRI Requirements Document.
