ULNRC-1535 DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 CALLAWAY PLANT APPLICATION FOR EELOAD LICENSE AMENDMENT USING WESTINGHOUSE VANTAGE 5 FUEL ASSEMBLIES
References:
- 1) ULNRC-1470 dated March 31, 1987
- 2) ULNRC-1491 dated April 15, 1987 j
- 3) ULNRC-1525 dated June 5, 1987 i
References 1 through 3 transmitted the license application and additional supporting information for Callaway Cycle 3, in which a transition to Westinghouse VANTAGE 5 fuel will begin.
Transmitted herewith are marked-up copies of Callaway Technical Specification pages 2-7 and 2-9, noting a revision to the definition of AT and page B2-5, noting corresponding revision to the Bases.
An a8ditional quarterly recalibration' check has been added to Table 4.3-1.
The proposed revision requires the use of as-measured loop-specific vessel AT values at 100% rated thermal power.
This will result in the two protection functions representing the actual plant equivalents to the transient analysis assumptions.
The

revised wording reflect the generic wording of NUREG-0452, j
Revision 4.
The results of the Safety Evaluation transmitted by l
Reference 1 remain unchanged in that this change would not j
adversely affect or endanger the health of the general public and j
does not involve an unreviewed safety question.
