Dear Mr. Stello:
By letter dated May 7, 1987, on behalf-of Suffolk County, New York State and the Town of Southampton (the " Governments"),
we requested that you immediately act for'the Staff to' cease all aspects of the review of Ili,CO's " Request".for.a 25% operating.
license pending the ruling of the Commission as to whether such a review is. legally permissible.
The Governments understand that the Staf f has. scheduled for May 12-13 meetings with LILCO at t'ne Shoreham plant to discuss certain aspects of LILCO's'" Request."

The Governments;ask that you; cancel these meetings.
l In.the event you fail to reply'to this-letter or otherwise decline to cancel the May 12-13 meetings, the Governments hereb'y
.I request that transcripts (or suitable tape recordings) of'the meetings be made.
This is particularly important under present circumstances, where the Governments object to-the meetings and contend that'the' Staff's conduct in acting pursuant to LILCO's i
" Request" is absolutely prejudicial.
