Purpose:

The purpose of this program is to provide parameters and methods to be used in order to comply with the requirements of "10 CFR Part 71". 2. Scope: The procedures contained herein shall be used by all Midwest Inspection Services, Inc. personnel involved in the use and transpor':ation of radioactive material shipping packages. 3. The fin 1 responsibility for the Quality Assurance Program for Part 71 requirements rests with Midwest Inspection Services, Inc. l i B. The Radiation Safety Officer (RS0) is the responsible individual for assuring compliance with Part 71 Q.A. requirements. In addition, the RSO is responsibic for overall administration of the program, training and certification, docu-ment control, and auditing. C. The radiographers are responsible for the safe handling, storing, shipping, inspection, test and operating status and the applicable recordkeeping. i 4. Quality Assurance Program: A..The management of Midwest Inspection Services, Inc. is responsible for atablishing and implementing this Q.A. program. Training, prior to engage-mett, for all Q.A. functions is required in accordance with Midwest Inspection Serstces, Inc. Personnel Certification Procedure SP-PC-4. Q.A. revisions will be made according to written procedures with management approval. The Q.A. ptogram will ensure that all defined Q.C. procedures, engineering pro-cedures and specific provisions of the package design approval are satisfied. The Q.
