SUBJECT:
Beaver Valley Power Station Unit No. 2 Docket No. 50-412 Detailed Control Room Design Review HED Resolution Schedule
REFERENCE:
DLC Letter 2NRC-7-005 dated January 8,1987 Gentlemen:
Section 6.0 of the Detailed Control Room Design Review (DCRDR) Supplement-al Summary Report (SSR) indicated that the resolution to all HEDs generated during the DCRDR would be implemented prior to April 30, 1987.
The following schedule changes are necessary:
1.
The resolution to 2CIC-5107 will be implemented by 12/31/87.
A review by DLC operations has determined that although the abbrevia-tions on the pushbuttons are not completely consistent with the dis-plays, they are understandable and easily related to one another.
BVPS-2 plant operation will not be affected.
2.
The resolution to 2CIC-5129 will be implemented by 12/31/87.
The CRTs have been adjusted and will be maintained as the need is identi-fied. Periodic adjustments will be made upon request. The CRTs will be maintained and the plant operation will not be affected.
3.
The resolution to 2CIC-5138 will be implemented by 5/29/87 which is 8 days after the current scheduled fuel load date.
During that time access to the plant computer system P& ids should be minimal.
DLC operations has indicated that the schedule is acceptable and that there will be no impact to plant operation.

United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Detailed Control Room Design Review - HED Resolution Schedule Page 2 4.
The resolution to 2CIC-5139 will be implemented by 5/29/87. DLC oper-ations finds the schedule acceptable for the same reasons indicated above for 2CIC-5138.
5.
The resolution to 2CIC-5208 will be implemented prior to start-up following the first refueling outage.
DLC operations has determined this schedule to be acceptable for the same reasons presented for 2CIC-5107.
Additionally, the ERFCS is not normally accessed by the control room operators during normal plant operation.
6.
The resolution to 2CIC-5209 will be implemented prior to start-up following the first refueling outage.
DLC operations has indicated that the excessive decimal places on numerical values should have minimal or no affect on plant operation as the ERFCS data is not normally accessed in the control room. This change will be implemen-ted to maintain consistency between the plant computer system and the ERF. DLC operations has determined that the schedule is acceptable.
7.
The resolution to 2CIC-5501 will be implemented by 12/31/87.
DLC operations has reviewed the abbreviations used on the DRMS and although not completely consistent with the BV-2 standards, the abbreviations and acronyms used are understandable and not confusing.
CLC operations has determined the schedule to be acceptable and that there will be no impact on plant operation.
8.
The resolution to 2MCR-2018 will be implemented prior to the current scheduled fuel load date of 5/21/87.
Additionally the resolution to the following HEDs have been revised and the final dispositions no longer require changes for the reasons provided on the attached HED Recommendation Revision Forms.
2CIC-5220 2CIC-5302 2CIC-5304 2CIC-5308 Finally Section 6.0 of the DCRDR SSR also indicated that the Work Space Survey and Emergency Equipment Survey would be initiated prior to 4/30/87.
The performance of both surveys were indicated to be contingent upon the removal of the existing wall seperating the Unit 1 and Unit 2 sections of the Control Room i
United States Nuclear Regulatory Connission Detailed Control Room Design Review - HED Resolution Schedule Page 3 i
l and installation of the partition (scheduled at that time to begin in mid-March 1987).
The temporary wall removal and partition installation is scheduled to be complete prior to the current scheduled BV-2 fuel load date of 5/21/87.
1 These surveys will be initiated after fuel load and completed, including imple-mentation of resolution to all resulting HEDs, prior to the start-up following the first refueling outage.
