'(Admitting Vemont and New Hampshire as Interested States)

1. In our Prehearing Conference Order (Rulings on Standing, Contentions, Schedules) dated May 26,1987(LBP-87-17,25NRC ),we denied the intervention-petition of the State of Vermont submitted pursuant to 10 C.F.R. 6 2.714. We ruled, however, that Vermont could participate as an interested State pursuant to 10 C.F.R. 6 2.715(c) if it wished to do so, and so advised us.

By letter dated June 9,1987, Vermont formally requested that it be permitted to participate as an interested State pursuant to 10 C.F.R. 6 2.715(c). That request is granted. Vermont is hereby admitted as an interested State.

2. By letter dated June 5,1987, the State of New Hampshire petitioned to participate as an interested State. New Hampshire had not l

previously filed a formal request to participate on any basis but had sent a representative to the prehearing conference which gave rise to LBP-87-17. Based upon our telephone inquiries on June 17-18, 1987, no party objects to New Hampshire's participation as an interested State.

Accordingly, New Hampshire's request is granted, and New Hampshire is admitted as an interested State.
