Dear Mr. Thorne:
Attached is a letter irem Transnuclear Inc requesting an amendment to export license XUO8627 to increase the quantity of natural uranium authorized for export by an additional 160,704 kilograms. The material will be enriched at Eurodif and returned to the U.S. for use as fuel in light-water power reactors.
Before taking action on this request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures as to whether the oroposed export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Act of 1978 (NNPA).
The export will involve Canadian materials.
