This is to advise you of a construction project that is n the, initial esy 9 Anew 400KWemergencystandbygeneratorisbeinginstalledynj.theEastpar ourplanttoreplacetheex{s,tjng150.KWemergencygenerator. He present 150 KW generator is 1958 vintage and th'e' acquisition of parts has become very difficult. % e 150 KW generator load has also nearly reached capacity and cannot accommodate future planned load requirements. h e new 400 KW generator will not fit in the existing location of the 150 KW generator and enclosed drawing DWG #400-EP3 shows location of 400 KW generator shed. This drawing also shows how 400 KW generator will hookup to existing motor control center and automatic transfer switch. h ere will be no alteration of downstream circuits now in existence. Enclosed drawing DWG#400-EP2 provides panel detail to compliment EP3.
Enclosed drawing DWG #400-EPS shows detail of generator shed. his drawing gives detail of wall, floor and door construction and shows the west and south walls to become the new MAA bour.dary.
h e planned construction has received verbal approval from the UNC Safety Group as well as frca American Nuclear Insurers (A.N.I.)
Since this letter is merely to advise you of these projects and since actual constructio, methods may vary, it should be anderstood that UNC is not committing to any of the details on the attachments. Upon actual completion of these projmts, however, appropriate Security Plan changes will be subnitted as necessary and will reflect compliance with all regulatory requirements, pa.
h e effectiveness of the UNC Security Plan will not be degraded during g
construction phases; all existing safeguarxis, including access controls, will a.O remain in effect and escort requirements met.
00
,o rs (D o It is anticipated that all projects will be completed on or about January 1, nl:c 1987.
