IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY.$25,000
[By EN 86-24 dated February 10,1986,-the Comission was notified of the' intent
~ of IE to issue a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties in the amount of $50,000 to Nebraska Public Power District. This action was based or, two security violations involving a degraded vital area barrier and
-unescorted access by a temporary employee.
The licensee responded to the Notice by letter dated May 28, 1986. After careful consideration of the licensee's response. the staff has concluded that the violation involving unescorted access by a temporary employee should be withdrawn. The. remaining violation involving the degraded vital area barrier-occurred as stated in the Notice. Accordingly, an Order Imposing Civil Monetary Penalty'in the amount of $25,000 has been issued today. Under the terms of the Order, the licensee may within 30 days of the date of the Order,
- pay the civil penalty or request a hearing..
