Submittal and discussion of revised topical report (TR) for the design of the NAC storage / transport cask for dry storage of spent fuel.
l DISCUSSION:
I indicated that we would begin reviewing it directly. NAC is aware that the Westinghouse TR has also recently been received.
I noted that some reviewers would be in a position to also begin work on the NAC 1
TR and that completion of this final review is targeted to be completed this fiscal year.

NAC has begun fabrication of a stainless steel and lead-shielded dry storage cask for Virginia Power in Japan. The_ body of the cask is that of the design NRC staff is reviewing. However, this cask, which is expected.to go to the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL) for a cooperative Department of Energy / Virginia Power demonstration of consolidated spent fuel rod storage, i
has a fuel basket design for 28 fueljrod canisters (or spent fuel assemblies).-
