July 1986 NARRATIVE
SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES At the beginning of the month, the plant was shutdown. At this time, a new type rupture disk mechanism was installed in the EFCV air cylinders, and the condenser and #2 LP turbine were inspected.
On 18 July, the reactor was made critical.
On 19 July, the unit was phased to the grid and power held at 30% for S/G boron soak.
On 20 July, power was increased to and maintained at 75% for mussel control.
On 21 July, power was raised to 90%.
On 22 July, power was raised to 96%.
On 24 July, power was increased to 98%.
On 30 July, power was increased to 99% using steam flow calorimetric due to fouling of feed flow venturi.
Power remained at 99% for the remainder of the month.
