DOCKET NOS: 50-272, 50-311, 50-354 SALEM AND HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATIONS CONSOLIDATION OF STATION PROTECTED AREAS In accordance with understandings reached with Mes srs. Keimig and Kushner of your office and their consultation with cognizant Nuclear Materials Safety and Safeguards officials, Public Service Electric and Gas Company will consolidate the protected areas of Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54 (p).
Construction schedules for the new protected area fence line and associated surveillance equipment, the scheduled combining date of the Salem and Hope Creek protected areas and the compensatory actions which must be taken during construction are delineated in Safeguards Information, Attachments 1 and 2.
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CPR 50.54 (p), PSE&G will submit within two months of implementation, a new set of Artificial Island Security, Contingency and Training and Qualification Plans which describe the Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations as a single site.
In addition, these new plans will describe the manner of compliance with the recent rules and changes published in the Federal Register, Volume 51, Number 149, Monday, August 4, 1986.
