Dear Sirs:
This letter requests verification that the District's understanding of how we will meet the requirements of NUREG 0654, Table B-1, is correct.
As a result of discussions with Mr. Kent Prendergast of Region V, the District understands that the NRC approves of the following implementation of NUREG 0654, Table B-1.
Because of the rural location of Rancho Seco:
The Rancho Seco Emergency Plan (RSEP) will require that the number of personnel e
called in for the 60-minute augmentation will be equal to the total of the 30-minute and 60-minute augmentation numbers in NUREG 0654, Table B-1.
The 30-minute will not be required in the RSEP.
Based on 'chis understanding, the District plans to proceed with implementation of the requirements of NUREG 0654, Table B-1.
To ensure that the District conforms with NUREG 0654. Table B-1, we request that the NRC immediately notify Mr. Don Martin, Manager of Environmental Protection, if our understanding of the minimum staff augmentation time periods is incorrect or if there are questions regarding our position.
