Dear Mr. Denton:
Georgia Power Company, acting on its own behalf and as agent for Oglethorpe Power Corporation, Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia, and the City of Dalton, Georgia, hereby submits six copies of Amendment 6 to the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant - Units 1 and 2 Physical Security and Contingency Plan.
On November 14, 1986, representatives of Georgia Power Company, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Johnson Controls Incorporated and J. D. Williams of the WLS Group met to discuss the protected area perimeter alarm assessment capability of the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant CCTV system.
In order to provide increased assurance that the cause of an alarm is assessed within the isolation zone using the CCTV assessment system, Georgia Power Company will relocate the microwave sensing devices of the permanent protected area perimeter intrusion detection system outside the protected area perimeter fence.
It is our intention to complete this relocation on or before March 14, 1987. This amendment reflects these changes and resolutions to NRC concerns from Amendment 5 of the security plan.
The enclosure of this letter contains information of a type specified in 10 CFR 2.790; it is therefore requested that they be withheld from public disclosure.
