Dear Chairman Zech:
I am writing to request your participation in a hearing
}
before the Northeastern Ohio Congressional Delegation pertaining to the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. As you know, several questions have been raised concerning the safety of the Perry facility, along with the effects the plant will have on the environment and future utility rates in Ohio. This hearing is being held to solicit testimony from authorities on the various issues surrounding Perry so that we as elected officials may better assess the true impact this plant will have on our communities.
This hearing will be held on December 16, 1986 at the Cuyahoga Community College Metro Campus Auditorium. It will take place between the hours of 9:00 and 5:00 with a lunch break occurring between 12:00 and 1:30. Issues to be addressed at this

hearing include, the safety of the facility, the adequacy of the evacuation plan, the effects of the earthquake on the plant, the effect on the environment the facility will have, the effects on Ohio's farming interests Perry will have, technical aspects of the plant including quality control and quality assurance and future utility rates in Ohio after Perry. Your testimony concerning any of the above mentioned issues would be greatly appreciated.
Should you decide to accept this invitation, it is requested that you submit a written statement no later than December 11,
