50-328 For the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant unit 1 reactor vessel, the surveillance capsule "U" was removed on October 28, 1985. TVA contracted with Southwest Research Institute (SRI) to perform testing and analysis of the capsule contents. SRI
~
has informed us of a delay in providing the information which could cause us to exceed the one-year reporting requirement of Appendix H to 10 CFR.50.
This delay was caused by unanticipated circumstances beyond SRI and TVA control.
Therefore, pursuant to paragraph III.A of Appendix H to,10 CFR 50, we request a 90-day extension for submittal of the final report.
The current heatup and cooldown curves for the reactor vessel will be valid during and beyond the period of the requested extension.
If approval is received for the extension, the report will be submitted on or before January 28, 1987.
In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 170.12, enclosed is the $150 application fee for this approval request.
