SUBJECT:
STATUS OF UMTRA VICINITY PROPERTY ACTIVITIES THROUGH JUNE 30, 1986 Introduction The attached table provides the vicinity property cumulative status by designated site through June 30, 1986.
Future UMTRA vicinity property activities will be chronicled on a semiannual basis.
The next status report will cover the period August 1 through December 31, 1986.
Site-Specific Reports Canonsburg The remedial action at the site is complete.
Vicinity property work at Burrell is behind schedule due to unfavorable weather conditions.
It is anticipated that all work at Burrell will be completed this Fall.
During this report period the following actions were completed:
7 properties were included, 41 were excluded, 4 REAs were approved, 34 completion reports were issued and 5 properties were certified.
Salt Lake City The engineering work on the outstanding REAs is ahead of schedule.
The year-to-date REA submittals are 40, compared to the FY86 milestone of 16.

. SEP 17 is The year-to-date construction starts of 16, exceeds the FY86 forecasted starts by'9.
During this report period the following actions were completed:
8 properties were included, 7 were excluded, 8 REAs were approved and no completion reports were issued or properties certified.
NRC concurrence was granted on one supplemental standards application.
Grand Junction REA submittals and construction starts are 27 percent and 5 percent ahead of the year-to-date schedule, respectively.
Based on current year-to-date schedules, all REA work is ahead of schedule and should remain such for the remainder of FY86.
During this report period the following actions were completed:
188 properties were included, 446 properties were excluded, 134 REAs were approved, 46 completion reports were issued and 2 properties were certified.
Durango The vicinity property work at Durango is continuing on schedule with FY86 REA submittals and construction milestones easily achievable.
A total of 20 remedial actions were initiated this year, which is 3 ahead of the FY86 milestone.
During this report period the following actions were completed: 4 properties were included, 100 were excluded, 6 REAs were approved and 2 completion reports were issued.
Shiprock The remedial action scheduled for Shiprock vicinity properties has been completed.
Twelve completion reports are currently being processed for certification, while only three remain to be submitted to 00E.
Edgemont Vicinity property work in Edgemont is estimated to progress as scheduled.
All included properties have completed the radiologic assessment phase and construction commenced in June on 23 of the 25 bidded properties.
During this report period, 3 properties were excluded and 1 completion report was issued.
