Braidwood Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-456 and 50-457 Mb Gentlemen:
I learned today that Commonwealth Edison Company recently filed an application with the NRC Staff to amend the Braidwood, Unit 1 operating license to include a wholly-owned subsidiary as a co-licensee.
The subject matter of this application is the same matter referred to in Intervenors' Motion to Admit Late-Filed Contention on Financial Qualifications, dated May 6, 1987, which is pending in this docket.
Commonwealth Edison Company's Response, dated May 18, 1987, opposed the Motion on several grounds.
One such ground was that the Board was without jurisdiction to grant the Motion because no applica-tion had been made by Edison with respect to the co-licensee issue on the Braidwood docket (Response, pp. 5-6).
The recent filing, however, invalidates this jurisdictional objection and it is hereby withdrawn.
The license amendment application will be served on the Board and parties as soon as copies become available.
