20555 SERVED SEP 241986 Re: Decision of ASLB Regarding Participation Of Certain Tuvns in Evacuation Planning for Seabrook Station
Dear Sirs,
The decision announced on September 16, 1986 barring nine New ilamsphire/ Massachusetts Towns from being heard in Seabrook Evacuation Plan llearings will create the possibility of radiation without representation.
The citizens of the nine towns have the greatest interest in being heard on the evacuation issue.
The Towns' possible failure to complete one of the many forms required by the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board is an outrageous reason to bar citizens from being heard on an issue that so deeply affects their lives.
Officials in several of the towns have denied that they had failed to respond. Brentwood, N. ll.,
Selectman Douglas Cowie has publicly stated that Brentwood had not failed to provide the requested information to the ASLB.
I urge that you cllow a reconsideration of the ASLB decision and then reverse the decision so as to allow Towns in the evacuation area to present testimony at the hearings.
