1.5 General

The work shall comply with the requirements of the Specific and General Conditions of this~ Specification and shall include the furnishing of all labor, material, tools and equipment, and facili-ties required therefor. Work specifically excluded is listed under. Paragraph 2.0. All work necessary to make a complace installation ready. for use or operation shall be performed and considered as included in j-the prices quoted for work hereunder whether or not specifically classi-find for payment under any of the items of the Proposal Form. t ] i 1.6 The Work Shall Include the Following Principal Items: 1.61 Finish painting of the turbine building. a 8648 Scope 1-3 5.0 WORK SITE FACILITIES

5.1 General

It is the desire of Company to retain the natural landscape of the plant site, disturbing the terrain only in those areas designated on the drawings or other areas where it.is unavoidable as a part of the perfor:ance of work hereunder.. Any unsightly displacements shall be restored to their original condition i=sediately after the completion of work. Contractor f..all cooperate with Constructor by restricting travel and other operations at the work site in accordance with this Section of the Specification.

5.2 Facilities

5.21_ Contractor..shall furnish all facilities Ihat may be necessary for performance of work hereunder unless specifically described to be provided by Company. All tenporary buildings and structures will require approval of Constructor regarding location -and-appe-- ^ ' ' - ctura17ensideration vill govern ae all times during the progress of work. Contractor shall not engage in any activity which =1ght result in unsightly conditions except for an approved specific length of time. 1 5.22 Specific Areas: *In the vicinity of the work site, an area vill be assigned to Contractor for his office, material stor-age, shops, and material laydown..Under no circumstances shall Contractor occupy other areas without specific authorization of Constructor. 5.23 Buildings erected by Contractor shall be approved by Constructor prior to erection. 5.7 Water

Co=pany will furnish necessary wa:er vi:hin :he work area, described below, for the work hereunder a: no cost to Con:ractor. 5.8 Power

Co=pany will furnish electrical power at 115 volts, single phase, and 480 volts, 3 ' phase, free of cost to Contractor, at established outlets within the work area. All temporary or portable wiring beyond these estaolished delivery points,shall be furnished by Contractor. However, all connections to these established delivery points, including the connection of welding machines, te=porary lighting, electrically driven su=p pu=ps, and senilar equipment, vill be by Con-structor. Co=pany will assu=e no liability for failure or suspension of electric power supplied. 5.9 Telechene Fae:11 ties: A culticircuit PT5! cable is available at the site. Should Contractor desire telephone facilities, he shall make all necessary arrange =ents for these facilities and be responsible for paymen: for sa=e. Overhead services will not be allowed. 5.7 Water

5.8 Power

Toward this end, the requirements of Paragraph 26.0 of the General Conditions will be rigidly enforced. 5.181 Contractor shall maintain the work area in a clean condition and shall remove all waste material and rubbish frc= the work area i==ediately as it accu =ulate and dispose of it in Company furnished containers. At the completion of work, Contractor shall re=ove all tools, equipment, vaste =aterial, and rubbish frc= the work site and shall leave the area in a clean and orderly condition. Contractor shall clean any oil spills on concrete i= mediately with Quick Serb or Chen Sorb. 6.0 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 6.1 Protection of Work, Safeguards: Contractor shall provide and maintain during the course of his work and as long as a hazard exists sufficient electrical type warning devices (flashers), barriers, barri-cades, te=porary walks, platforms, and other safeguards as required for the safety of his e=ployees and others working in the area.

2.1 General

2.11 The extent of surface preparation necessary shall vary with the existing condition of the item to be finish painted. These items may be unpainted, shop primed, or shop painted unless otherwise noted. Ccmpany representative shall indicate extent of surface preparation required. 2.12 All surfaces shall be dry and free from dust, dirt, grime, grease, oil, rust, and other substances or coatings which will i= pair the quality of the work or interfere with the preper adhesion of the coatings. 2.13 No halogen-based cleaners shall be used. 2.14 Ccmpounds used in surface preparation shall not be allowed to contact surfaces other than those being prepared # r painting. 2.2 Carbon Steel Surfaces: 2.21 General: All foreign materials shall be re=oved. 2.6 Plaster

All holes, cracks, and other surface defects shall be repaired with patching plaster properly keyed to existing plaster and textured or finished to match surrounding surface by others. No paint or sealer shall be applied on plaster when coisture content exceeds 8 percent as determined by a moisture testing device. Definition of Bidder, Company, Materials Depart =ent, Constructor, Centract, Contractor, Enginear, Specification, Work, etc., is as defined under the General Conditions of this Specification. 1.4 Cc_mpany representatives to whom all questions pertaining to the work shall be directed are as follows: 1.41 Prior to award of contract, the authorized representative is the Cocpany's Materials Department. For information pertaining to the specifications and drawings, bidders shall contact the Materials Depart =ent representative. 1.42 After award of contract, the Company's representative will be Constructor.

1.5 General

The work shall comply with the requirements of the Specific and General Conditions of this Specification and shall include the furnishing of all labor, =aterial, tools and equipment, and facili-ties required therefor. Work specifically excluded is listed under Paragraph 2.0. 5.1 General

It is the desire of Co:pany to retain ths natural landscape of the plant site, disturbing the terrain only in those areas designated on the drawings or other areas where it is unavoidable as a part of the perfor:ance of work hereunder. Any unsightly displacements shall be restored to their original condition immediately after the completion of work. Contractor d.all cooperate with Constructor by restricting travel and other operations at the work site in accordance with this Section of the Specification.

5.2 Facilities

5.21 Contractor shall furnish all facilities that may be necessary for performance of work hereunder unless specifically described to be provided by Cocpany. All temporary buildings and structures will require approval of Constructor regarding location and appearance. Architectural consideration will govern at all times during the progress of work. Contractor shall not engage in any activity which might result in unsightly conditions except for an approved specific length of time. 5.22 Soecific Areas:

  • In the vicinity of the work site, an area will be assigned to Contractor for his office, material stor-age, shops, and material laydown.

Under no circumstances shall Contractor occupy other areas without specific authorization of Constructor. 5.23 Buildings erected by Contractor shal'1 be approved by Constructor prior to erection. 5.7 Water

Co:pany will furnish-necessary water within the work area, described below, for the work hereunder at no cost to Contractor. When Bidder visits the work site, Constructor will indicate'the points of connection to the water supplies, Flow will be limited to the capac-ity of the existing facilities. Contractor shall furnish all piping and equipment for transporting and disposing of water used for cleaning, test- ~ ing, or other purposes. Force pumping of existing lines by Contractor shall be subject to prio; approval. Company will assume no liability for the suspension of water services. 5.71 Drinking water is in short supply.. Company will furnish drinking water in nominal quantities for use by all Contrac tors at one established point. 5.72 Raw water is available in limited quantitles forL construction purposes. This water is not potable, and. Contractor shall notify his employees of same and shall post warnings at each of his raw water supply outlets. Company will make analyses during construction to assure acceptability of the water for the work hereunder.

5.8 Power

Company will furnish electrical power at 115 volts, single phase, and 480 volts, 3' phase, free of cost to Contractor,uat established outlets within the work area. All temporary or portable wiring beyond these established delivery points shall be furnished by ~ Contractor. however, all connections to these established delivery points, including the connection of welding machines, temporary lighting, electrically driven sump pumps, and similar equipme.nt, will be by Con-structor. Company will assu=e no liability for failure or suspension of electric power supplied. 5.9 Telephone Facilities: A multicircuit PIs! cable is available at the site. Should Contractor desire telephone facilities, he shall cake all necessary arrangements for these facilities and de responsible for payment for same. Overhead services will not be allowed. Vehi-cles will not be permitted on site without an identifying sticker or special pass issued by Company. 5.15 Access: Equipment, personnel, tools, or material shall be transported to and from the property during scheduled work hours unless otherwise permitted by Constructor. A permit will be required to move tools, equipment, and material off of the. work site. Permits will be obtained from Constructor as each need occurs. Company will furnish gateman during approved working hours. 5.16 'a'eather : Contractor shall provide the necessary tarpaulins, ~ supports, etc., for protec .on of his work and material from inclement weather, ocean spray, rain, and mud to the satisfaction of Censtructor. 5.17 Illumination: Company will install lights for lighting the entire yard area. Contractor shall provide additional lighting for his work when it is necessary in order to conduct the work in a safe, work-manlike manner. All applicable codes and requirements shall be complied with. 5.18 Good Housekeeping: C'entractor shall maintain c?.ean and orderly work and storage areas at all times during the pecgress of his work. Toward this end, the requirements of Paragraph 26.0 of the General Conditions will be rigidly enforced. 5.181 Contractor shall maintain the work area in a clean condition and shall remove all waste material and rubbish from the work area immediately as it accumulate and dispose of it in Company furnished containers. At the completion of work, Contractor shall remove all tools, equipment, waste material, and rubbish frcm the work site and shall leave the area in a clean and orderly cendition. 2.6 Plaster

All holes, cracks, and other surface defects shall be repaired with patching plaster properly keyed to existing plaster and textured or finished to match surrounding surface by others. No paint or sealer shall be applied on plaster when moisture content exceeds 8 percent as determined by a moisture testing' device. Plaster which has cured less than.two months shall be washed with Dutch Boy Alki-Free. 2.7 Exterior Surfaces of Generator Housings and Associated Structures (including turbine-generator, exciter, and exciter shelter): 2.71 Surfaces shall be sanded to remove all rough edges and loose paint. 2.72 Sanded surfaces shall receive one coat Sherwin-Williams Ken Bond Primer #E41N15 applied by spray af ter reducing 20 percent with Toluol #R2Kl. 2.73 Cracks and dents shall be filled with Rinshed-Mason #74 Green Stuff Putty and sanded out smooth and flush.
